The sculpture / installation work represented in this gallery takes the line drawing ‘off the page’ and into the space of the place. Sometimes the pencil line is realised in wire work and the space between the lines given material substance.

The development of these works are informed by and reference the work of artists such as Gertrude Goldschmidt a unique figure among Venezuelan abstractionists of the 1960s and 1970s who realised her delicate drawings in open work weavings in cable and steel, and the Russian avant-garde artist Katarzyna Kobro (1898-1951) who’s sculpture work may be regarded as a proposal for organising space, not as a solid body or object but simply a design of space.
